FAQs

Here to answer your questions about working with me

How do I book a session with you?

To book a session with me is easy. Simply get in touch via my contact form or email me when you are thinking of getting photos done (month, time of year, specific date, etc.) and I’ll let you know about my availability. Are you looking for a particular time of day or
lighting? No worries! We will chat a little bit about how we can make that happen.

What should I wear?

I am a bright, clashing clothes kind of gal, but that may not be you. If it is you, great – let’s go crazy with it. But if you’re wanting the more natural look, I suggest wearing something that won’t blend in with your background. For example, if we’re going into a darker forest, don’t wear earthy tones like greens, browns or blacks. If we’re heading down to the beach at sunset, whites and darker colours will be your friend. If you’re still not sure, feel free to ask me – I’m always here to help.

I don’t have any locations in mind, can you suggest any?

Absolutely. I’ve been in this game for a little while and have collected a bunch of different shoot locations. If you need a hand, let me know and I can suggest something around the area.

How long do sessions last?

That depends on what you have booked. Most photo sessions normally run for about an hour, but if there are young kids involved, they may get tired quickly, so we might run less than that. If you’ve opted for a shorter session or headshots, you can expect to be done in half an hour (maybe a tad longer if there are costume changes!). Businesses, I will let you know once we have started to chat how long you should expect me to be around.

What happens if the weather is bad?

I have been photographing long enough to not cancel due to a weather forecast. I am fully prepared to wait until the last minute to cancel a session due to bad weather, but if  we do have to, we will of course reschedule at no extra cost for you. I am also very happy to shoot in the rain; it can make for some great photos!

Can we photograph in my house?

Absolutely yes. The one thing I will ask you to keep in mind is that I do not travel with lights and rely completely on natural light. If you have a space in your home with big windows or lots of natural light, then the better the photos will look.

How long do my photos take to be edited?

That really depends on how long the session was. Expect your photos to be with you anytime between one week and four weeks after the session date. I’ll always give you a rough estimate as to how long it will take at the end of the session. Please let me know if you’re in a bit of a rush and need the photos sooner.

Can you Photoshop out the bits I don’t like?

I edit photos, I do not retouch them. I’m a strong believer in keeping photos looking as natural as possible, and there may be some edits I need to make with the lighting and little touch ups, but I cannot cut out people, change the way hair looks or remove anything you don't like - sorry!

How are my photos delivered and can I get my photos printed?

The photos will be provided to you via a digital download link. It will be password protected, so not just anyone can view and download your photos, but please feel free to share the link and password with whomever you would like. The photos will be available to download for up to six months, so please make sure to download them and keep them in a safe place on your computer.

At this time, I do not offer a printing service. That being said, I can absolutely help you out with potential places where you can get them printed.

Can I use the photos on my social media?

Please do! I love to see my photos being used, so go for it. Extra points if you even mention me in the description.
